Frequently Asked Questions
Our Mission
Our mission is to make the knowledge and insights buried in hours of audio content easily discoverable for everyone. This project directs all views to the creators' originally published content. This tool is intended for research, journalistic, and educational purposes only.
How does it work?
We use advanced speech-to-text technology to transcribe podcast episodes and index them for search. Our platform allows you to search for specific topics, phrases, or keywords across thousands of podcast episodes. When you find what you're looking for, we'll direct you to the exact timestamp in the episode where your search term is discussed.
What's the most effective way to search?
This platform uses semantic search, a powerful search method that matches the meaning of the search phrase to podcast clips, not just keywords. Semantic search is different from question and answering or keyword search. For example, a good search phrase might be "The fall of the Roman Empire and its impact on religion" to retrieve podcast clips that discuss exactly that. A keyword search of "Roman Empire, religion" might work, but you are not utilizing the full power of semantic search i.e., the relationship between the Roman Empire and religion that you care about.
Can I search over multiple podcast episodes?
Yes. Within a podcast, you can search over all episodes or select episodes.
How often is the database updated?
We update our podcast database weekly to include the latest episodes from all the podcasts we track. This ensures you always have access to the most recent content.
How accurate are the search results?
Very. But accuracy also depends on factors outside our control, such as podcast audio quality and transcription quality. We're constantly improving our algorithms to provide the most accurate results possible.
